Abia APC: Reality Organisation Rejects Chukwu’s Reconciliation, Demands SWC Dissolution

The Reality Organisation has rejected the recent reconciliation move by the Chijioke Chukwu-led State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, describing it as a “face-saving exercise” following its earlier threat to discipline Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Dimgba Okereke, the group said the decision to withdraw the disciplinary threat did not amount to genuine reconciliation, arguing that the controversy was unnecessary from the outset.

The organisation maintained that Kalu committed no anti-party offence when he assessed Governor Alex Otti’s chances of winning the 2027 governorship election during a television interview. It argued that expressing an electoral prediction should not be interpreted as endorsing an opponent.

Reality Organisation also accused the State Working Committee of selective application of party discipline, alleging that other individuals associated with the APC had made statements supportive of Otti without facing similar disciplinary threats.

The group specifically questioned the absence of action against Senator Emma Nwaka, Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu, Prof. ACB Agbazuere and others whom it said had expressed positions favourable to the governor.

Against this backdrop, the organisation called on the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to dissolve the present Abia SWC, alleging that its leadership lacked the neutrality and capacity required to unite the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Chijioke Chukwu had an opportunity to unite the Abia APC. He has failed,” the group stated.

Reality Organisation, however, reaffirmed its commitment to the APC, stressing that its criticism was directed at the state leadership and not the party itself.

The group said it would convene a meeting in October to review developments within the Abia APC and determine its political direction ahead of 2027.
