65th Independence: We Must Continue To Play Our Roles In Nation-building – Orji Uzor Kalu

The senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu has urged Nigerians to commit to nation building as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message shared on his social media handles, the top ranking senator noted that October 1 every year should remind Nigerians of the courage, unity, and sacrifices of the founding fathers who stood for freedom, justice, and a future built on hope.

The message reads in parts, “In the past decades, we have faced many challenges as a people, yet our resilience has always kept us together. We must continue to draw strength from our diversity, uphold the values of peace and unity, and work collectively towards the progress of our great nation.”

He further stated that, “True independence is not only about political freedom; it is about building a society where opportunities are available to all, where the dreams of our youth are nurtured, and where justice and equity prevail. 

As citizens, we must continue to play our roles in nation-building with faith, hard work, and patriotism.

On this Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to Nigeria. Let us remember that the responsibility of building the country we desire rests not only on our leaders but on each of us as citizens.”

Senator Kalu called on all Nigerians from all walks of life to join hands together to make Nigeria a land of prosperity, peace, and hope for generations to come.
