VIDEO: Senator Kalu Calls for Peace Amid Feud Between APC Governors and Minister Wike

Former Governor of Abia State and current Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has appealed for calm following the growing dispute between the Progressive Governors’ Forum and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking on the political friction, Senator Kalu described the exchange of words as part of the democratic process but warned that prolonged infighting could derail campaign efforts. He acknowledged that both sides hold valid arguments, noting that state governors naturally resist external influences sponsoring alternative political candidates within their domains.

“I am appealing to both the Governors’ Forum and Minister Wike to sheath their swords. We need the strengths of the governors, and we also need Minister Wike’s strength,” Senator Kalu stated.

He stressed that political campaigns are won at the grassroots level rather than in Abuja, urging party leaders and stakeholders to shift their focus towards economic development, national production, and total unity behind President Bola Tinubu’s agenda instead of internal political disputes.
