Peter Obi Denies Meeting Donald Trump, MC Oluomo; Says The Pictures Are Fake

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has debunked spreading news online that he met with United States President, Donald Trump, and MC Oluomo, a prominent ally of President Bola Tinubu.

In a post he personally shared on his verified social media handles with the caption, “Clarification on Fake News and Photos”, Obi said that he had not met with President Trump in recent times nor had any meeting with MC Oluomo as being peddled online. In the statement, the prominent critic of Tinubu’s administration said:

“My attention has been drawn to some pictures currently circulating on social media, falsely portraying meetings I never had. One of such images purports to show me with US President Donald Trump, alongside a fabricated claim that he praised me. Another seeks to depict me with MC Oluomo in his office.

Obi warned that the fabrications and fake news are misleading and deliberately designed to confuse, misguide, and distract the public. He cautioned that Nigerians and the international community must remain vigilant, verify information before sharing, and resist the culture of propaganda that undermines truth and integrity. He noted that if he had held such meetings, he would have personally made them public on his Twitter handle.

Earlier, an online user identified as Jerome Parson claimed that President Trump, speaking at an event, praised Peter Obi, who he claimed to have met recently, and projected him as the best option for the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria.
