The Abia North Youths in Diaspora has congratulated Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on his overwhelming victory at the just concluded All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election for Abia North Senatorial District.
In a statement issued by its Global President, Mazi Nnanna Okoro Ibe, the group described Kalu’s landslide victory as a strong confirmation of his enduring popularity, grassroots political strength and the confidence reposed in him by party members and the people of Abia North.
Senator Kalu defeated his challenger, Philip Nto, with 65,651 votes against 2,103 votes recorded by Nto during the direct primary election conducted across the 57 wards and five local government areas of the district.
According to the diaspora youth group, the massive margin of victory across Ohafia, Arochukwu, Bende, Isuikwuato and Umunneochi local government areas demonstrates the widespread acceptance of the former Abia State governor and the appreciation of his developmental efforts in the zone.
“Senator Kalu’s performance in office, empowerment programmes and numerous constituency projects have continued to impact positively on the lives of the people, especially the youths.” Okoro Ibe said.
He also noted that, “this landslide victory, though at the party level, clearly shows the level of acceptance and an endorsement to his developmental strides.”
The organisation also commended Kalu’s interventions in infrastructure, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, rural electrification and industrial development across Abia North, noting that his experience and influence remain valuable assets to the district and the country at large.
The Abia North Youths in Diaspora called on all eligible voters across the senatorial district to massively support and vote for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in the 2027 general election, stressing that an overwhelming victory for him would further position Abia North for greater prominence and stronger representation in the Senate and Nigeria as a whole.
