Senator representing the Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu (MON) has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to unlocking global economic and academic opportunities for the youths of his constituency through continuous international exposure, capacity building, and advanced training.
In a developmental brief released on Wednesday and obtained by 9japarrot media, the former Senate Chief Whip announced that a fresh cohort of Abia North youths have successfully arrived in China to participate in the prestigious Advanced Training on Green Finance and Financial Supervision for Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Partner Countries.
Demonstrating a balanced distribution of opportunities across the senatorial district, Senator Kalu highlighted the primary beneficiaries currently undergoing intensive specialized training in China, representing various local government areas within the constituency including; Alaezi Onyekwere John from Bende Local Government Area, Ume Benedicth Ukaha from Ohafia Local Government Area and Egbulam Ikechukwu Emmanuel from Isuikwuato Local Government Area.
The advanced program is structurally designed to equip financial experts and emerging leaders from BRI partner nations with cutting-edge frameworks in sustainable investment, carbon financing, risk management, and international financial supervision positioning the beneficiaries to bring invaluable global expertise back to Nigeria’s evolving economic space.
The Lawmaker disclosed that the Green Finance training is part of a broader, well-funded educational intervention blueprint aimed at transforming Abia North into a powerhouse of intellectual and professional excellence.
Beyond short-term technical programs, several youths from the district are currently scattered across top-tier global institutions pursuing fully funded Doctoral (Ph.D.) and Master’s degree programs facilitated through various international scholarship platforms and strategic partnerships.
The lawmaker emphasized that these structured interventions are designed to bypass traditional bureaucratic bottlenecks, ensuring that young, brilliant minds from less-privileged backgrounds get direct access to world-class learning environments.
Reiterating his core governance philosophy, the veteran politician maintained that building solid infrastructure like roads and classrooms must be heavily complemented by building the people who will manage them.
He asserted that human capital development is the single most potent antidote to regional poverty and economic stagnation.
“Human capital development remains the foundation for sustainable growth, prosperity, and long-term development,” Senator Kalu stated while charging the beneficiaries to remain exemplary ambassadors of the state.
“I remain committed to creating global opportunities for the youths and people of Abia North through education, training, capacity building, and international exposure” He added.
