Nigeria Police Set to Announce New Force PRO Following Redeployment of Current Spokesman

The Nigeria Police Force is preparing to announce a new Force Public Relations Officer following the redeployment of the current spokesperson, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of DCP Adejobi to Delta State Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, marking the end of his tenure as the Force’s chief spokesman.

In a statement released Tuesday, the IGP commended DCP Adejobi for his “exceptional service” as Force Public Relations Officer, highlighting his professionalism and contributions to strengthening the communication strategies of the Nigeria Police Force.

“The IGP has commended DCP Adejobi for his exceptional service as Force Public Relations Officer, noting his professionalism, commitment, and remarkable contributions to strengthening the image and communication strategies of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read.

The deployment to Delta State reflects the Force leadership’s confidence in Adejobi’s operational experience and capacity to enhance security strategies in the oil-rich state.

According to the police statement, arrangements are currently being finalized for the announcement of Adejobi’s successor as Force Public Relations Officer.

Interestingly, the announcement of his own redeployment was signed by DCP Adejobi himself in his capacity as the outgoing Force PRO, dated September 3, 2025.

The Nigeria Police Force has not yet indicated when the new Force Public Relations Officer will be unveiled or provided details about potential candidates for the position.
