Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has successfully scaled through the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general election and the party’s primary elections.
Kalu disclosed this after appearing before the party’s screening committee alongside the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, the Deputy Senate President, the Senate Majority Leader and other ranking members of the Red Chamber.
The former Senate Chief Whip commended the national leadership of APC for what he described as a seamless, professional and stress-free screening process. He appreciated the APC National Chairman, the National Secretary, the National Organising Secretary, members of the National Working Committee and the screening panel for their coordination and commitment.
According to him, the level of organisation witnessed during the exercise reflects the ongoing improvement in the party’s internal structure and leadership. He noted that the smooth conduct of the screening exercise demonstrates the growing strength and stability within the ruling party.
Senator Kalu has remained one of the influential voices within the party and continues to play a major role in strengthening its structures nationally and in the South-East region.
